How Lifetime Fans Work
Lifetime Fans turns a follow into a standing permission. When fans subscribe, your new releases are automatically saved to their Spotify library on release day, no extra effort required.
What Are Lifetime Fans?
Lifetime Fans is an automated release delivery system:
- Fans subscribe via your dedicated fans page (
aden.space/@yourname/fans) - They connect their Spotify account through secure OAuth
- New releases auto-save to their library on release day
- Optional email notifications keep them informed about new music
This feature is similar to services like Hypeddit and Feature.fm, but built directly into Aden.
For Artists

Release Integration
When you set a track or album status to "Released":
- Aden checks if the release date is today or in the past
- If so, the workflow triggers immediately
- Your track/album is saved to all connected fans' Spotify libraries
- Fans with email notifications enabled receive an email
If the release date is in the future, the save is scheduled for release day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this allowed by Spotify?
Yes. Lifetime Fans uses Spotify's official API with proper user authorization. When fans connect their Spotify account, they explicitly grant permission to modify their library. This is the same authorization model used by other music marketing platforms.
Do fans need a Aden account?
No. Fans only need to provide their email address and connect their Spotify account. No Aden account is required.
What if my ISRC/UPC is missing?
Without an ISRC (for tracks) or UPC (for albums), Aden cannot find your release on Spotify. Make sure your distributor provides these codes and that you've added them to your release metadata in Aden.
Does this work for albums too?
Yes! When you release an album, it's saved to fans' libraries just like single tracks. Albums use UPC codes for Spotify lookup.
What if a fan's Spotify token expires?
Aden automatically refreshes Spotify tokens when needed. If a refresh fails (e.g., the fan revoked access), that fan is marked as inactive and won't receive future saves until they reconnect.
Can I see which fans received my release?
Yes. In your dashboard, you can view save statistics for each release, including successful saves, failures, and pending saves.
Privacy & Data Security
We take your fans' privacy seriously:
- Encrypted tokens: Spotify access tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption
- Limited scope: We only request the permissions needed to save releases (
user-library-modify) - No data selling: Fan data is never sold to third parties
- Easy opt-out: Fans can disconnect at any time through email links or Spotify settings
- Transparent usage: Tokens are only used for saving releases. Nothing else
